“Disney’s animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast. A young prince, imprisoned in the form of a beast, can be freed only by true love. What may be his only opportunity arrives when he meets Belle, the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was enchanted.”
I was contacted by Industrial Light and Magics Art Department back in 2014 to help design the classical character Lumiere from Disneys Beauty and the Beast. Over the coming months I worked closely together ILM Art Director Stephen Tappin and the production designer for Beauty and the Beast, Sarah Greenwood. During this time I did about 20-30 versions of Lumiere in 2D and 3D, as well as some work on the character Plumette. All in all it was a really fun project to work on and I couldn’t be happier with how Lumiere turned out in the film.
